My belief of Bigfoot began when I was a child. My Father and I would sit and watch Godzilla and other monster movies every Saturday morning for years. Then one Saturday the movie "The Legend of Boggy Creek" was shown. I remember being glued to the screen of the television watching as this movie unfolded. From that moment on I was hooked. Growing up I could not get enough of Bigfoot. I read every book I could find in the libraries, learning all that I could of Bigfoot. Now that I am and adult my beliefs have continued to grow.
I am an Arizona native and grew up in Phoenix most of my life. My parents are also Arizona natives, my Father was born and rasied on the White Mountain Apache indian reservation and my Mother is a Phoenix native. My family has always been an outdoors family, hunting, fishing, camping, and everything in between. We have even shared several encounters that we believe can be attributed to Bigfoot.
In October 1991 my family and I went on a deer hunting trip in the North Kaibab Forest on the North side of the Grand Canyon. We camped at our usual camp site in the area of Crazy Jug Point. On the evening of our first day the sun had begun to set and was behind the ridge that ran North to South on our west side blocking the evening sun. At this time we began to hear a whistling sound that was coming from this ridge. The sound appeared to be about a quarter of a mile away. This whistle continued about every 30 seconds to a minute for several hours. At first we thought this was some kind of bird we did not know of. Then another whistle began to answer the first. The second whistler was whistling closer to our camp but on the ridge South East of the camp. For the next hour or so the two whistlers called and answered each other. Several times it sounded like one of the two was moving around on the ridge where they were as the whistling would move closer or further away. As stated before we believed this was just a bird, a very loud bird.
Well the next two nights at almost the same time our whistlers began their calling. Each night they whistled from areas close to the first locations they had started on the first night. On one of the nights a third whistler joined in but was farther North and could barely be heard compared to the two others who echoed through the small basin area we were in. The third only responded to the other two every few minutes or so.
Our hunting trip came and went and we forgot about our whistlers for many years. One day I decided to buy the "Sierra Sounds" cd's. Listening to them I was surprised when I heard one of the men exchanging whistles with an unknown whistler in the woods. When I heard the creatures from the cd whistling the hair on my neck stood up and I instantly recalled the the whistles from 1991. I then knew instantly that what ever was whistling on the cd was the same thing my family and I had heard for three nights on the North side of the Grand Canyon.
I took the cd's to my parents home and let them borrow them to listen to. I purposely did not tell them what I had heard when I had listened to them as I wanted to see what their reaction to the cd's would be. Over the next week or so Each of my parents, and all but one of my sisters called me asking me if I had heard the sounds that we had heard from our hunting trip on the "Sierra Sounds" cd's. They all stated that the sounds that I had heard where the man was exchangning whistles with the unknown whistler was the same that they had heard from our whistlers on our hunting trip in 1991.
In 1991 when we were on our hunting trip our family included my Father, Mother, two brothers, and two sisters. Six separate people listened to the whistles on a cold October deer hunt for several hours on three separate nights and all six listened to the "Sierra Sounds" cd's and determined for themselves that these whistles were from the same source. This was not our families only experience in this same camp site but the most memorable and the one that led us to realize who our companions in the forest those nights were.

I am 43 years old. I live and work in southern Arizona near the Mexican border. I was born in Arizona and have lived here the majority of my life.
My interests include hunting, fishing, camping, exploring, 4x4s and of course searching for the big guy.
My interest in Bigfoot began in my early teens when I checked a book out of the school library that had Bigfoot stories in it, The ape canyon story really got my interest and began my quest to find Bigfoot.
I have had a few instances in which I thought I might be having an encounter, but never have seen a Bigfoot. That is my quest, to see one with my own eyes.
Over the years my searching has for the most part been a solitary endeavor. I have now teamed up with some fantastic folks who are like minded here at Desert Bigfoot.
In the summer of 2008 I was hunting in the White Mountains near Hannigans Meadow. My hunting companion and I had just gone to bed and were sleeping in two separate dome tents next to each other. Shortly after laying down I heard a sound that sounded like a person walking or crossing the cold Black River. I heard a few more heavy loud footsteps come closer to our camp that sounded bipedal. My hunting companion then stated his tent had been pushed in by something outside on top of him and when he tried to hit the tent wall to force whatever it was back his arm struck a solid hard object that was very strong and almost unmovable. He had his two large aggresive dogs inside the tent with him and they refused to move or even growl at the camp intruder. Lastly I heard the heavy bipedal foot falls again leaving camp.

My experience
My first experience occurred at the Rose Creek campground in December of 2008.That night after Jeff got in to his truck and went to sleep and also John went in to the tent Vic and I were standing around the campfire. Where the “road closed” metal gate was that we passed when John was using the thermal and I was using the night vision, I heard that rattle. That grabbed my attention and I asked Vic if he had heard that. He asked what it sounded like and as I was walking to the truck to get the night vision I told him it sounded like someone or something was trying to open the “road closed” gate. So I walked back to the campfire with Vic and he was saying he was hearing leaves being kicked around on our side of the creek not too far away.
Once I got to the campfire about one minute later I heard leaves rustling and twigs being broke. Then Vic said he heard a thump which I didn’t hear because I had my attention on the night vision while I was turning it on. He asked me if I heard it and I said no, and John said he heard the thump. Vick started saying did you hear that so we walked pass the grill that the lantern was on and I began to look through the scope and I saw this big black thing crouched or kneeling behind some short trees. I asked Vic to hold my flash light and aim it straight in front of us. Vick turned on both flashlights and asked what it was. I replied and said there is something big and black crouched behind that tree. Within five seconds we heard a rock that was thrown probably ten yards maybe fifteen land right to the left of us. Vick turned and I got on the side of him and looked very quick then turned back to where I saw the black thing behind the tree and it was gone. I said Vic the black thing is gone. I think it threw that rock to distract us and then it took off. I tried scanning to the right of the tree it was behind and I wasn’t able to see because it started getting pretty thick in that area. Then Vic said “yeah they usually throw rocks like you were saying to distract us because other people have said that as well”.
Vic and I went back around the fire and started talking. Then john said, “well I think I’m about to go to bed” after he got out of the tent. The fire was barely burning and Vic said, “Yeah I think I’m going to start getting in the truck as well.” Well Vic got into his truck and I jumped into the tent and put my beanie on then my baklava. About five minutes went by and I heard a “thud” but it was muffled because I had all the stuff on my head covering my ears. I thought it was John and maybe he had kicked the action packer. I ignored it then he was whispering “Bernie, did you hear that.” I sat up and pulled the baklava off my head then folded my beanie so it wasn’t covering my ears so I could hear better. John then said something just made some kind of thud and a groan. Then I heard fast footsteps run behind the tent and up the campsite road.
John got on the radio and asked Vic if he was awake. I jumped out of the sleeping bag put my boots on grabbed the gun and flashlight and ran outside. I shined my light in Vic’s blazer and he had his headphones on with the radio in his hand. He rolled down the window and said dude did you hear that groan. I said yeah did you record it and he said “yep”. John got out of the tent and started talking to Vic. As they were doing that I was behind Vic’s blazer looking for tracks thinking it was a bear but I noticed even though the ground is frozen bears will leave claw marks that dig in while they are going around. Vick started saying the same things we did which was a groan but Vic said when he heard the noise it was clear enough that it was very close to the vehicles but it was like a “wroooo”. John decided that he was sleeping in the truck so we both grabbed are sleeping bags and jumped in and started it.
I began scanning the area with the night vision and wasn’t able to see anything especially with Vic’s camera that had the ir light on it which lit up everything in front of our truck. Then Jeff got on the radio and was wondering why we were starting the trucks and I said something just ran through camp and
we are getting in our trucks The next morning I heard Vic and John talking but fell back to sleep. After ten minutes John woke me up and said let’s start packing.
